lyrics
Sitting all alone inside the house
Wondering what might have been if I'd gone out
Exploring possibilities within my rancid mind
Inventing strange scenarios that really cross the line
It's dark and it's howling and the local supermarket
Is filled with disappointments but it's gonna have to do
Staring at the clock with no idea
How the fucking hell did I get here
Sick on Easter chocolates
And cheery Christmas cheer
Summertime is coming round again
I think I better phone someone and try to make amends
For something that I haven't done or something that I have
The seasons are all coming round too quickly now
It seems to me the Beach Boys told a lie
Summer isn't endless it's just endless looking back
You get your chance make a stand then it's over in a flash

Amy Rigby is one of our very best songwriters, and this, her first solo album in many years, is another collection of gems. It's also more "indie" than her prior releases; its grittier, more rocking sound suits Amy well. Most of the instruments are played by Amy and her husband Wreckless Eric, the album's producer. You can't go wrong with an Amy Rigby album, and though newbies should start with "Diary of a Mod Housewife," this is a must-hear. ksvtguy
